结束假期 回到北京

我们回来了,回到了北京。

坐着南航的小飞机,在漫天迷雾中,叮叮咣咣的降落在北京机场。南方和北方的差异是那么的明显,一个潮湿、一个干燥,回到北京马上就感觉到触手可及的静电无处不在,而在广东,天气一直都是那么潮湿温热,虽然是冬天。

婚礼热闹而快乐,我的家人和Julia的家人欢聚一堂,气氛热烈而幸福,度过了一个愉快的假期。
Julia的很多朋友从外地赶来参加婚礼,从香港、美国、广州...,非常感谢这些朋友:)

回到北京,新的一年、新的生活重新开始。
希望这一年能有更多的收获。

新年快乐-百度已至 谷歌未达

新年已经来到了,今天下午,我们就要离开北京,飞往广东,在此祝贺所有的朋友们新年快乐,万事如意!

顺便看了一下Baidu的新年Logo,一个粉娃娃和粉猪猪,煞是可爱:

可析看不到Google的,谷歌的Logo没变化,Google.com一上去,马上就被封,GFW仍然强劲。
虽然Google已经在中国作出了大量的让步和努力,但是谷歌仍然是一块鸡肋,难怪一度传说Google会调整在华的战略。

ORA-00701 warmstarting对象的另类解决方法

有朋友在ITPUB问到一个问题,如何resize一个SYSTEM表空间。

从常规来说,如果我们希望resize一个文件,这个文件能够resize的部分必然是没有数据,未被使用的,也就是说,我们需要找到一个文件最高的Extent号,这个Extent之外的空间是可以被resize的,以下一个查询可以帮我们找到一个文件最末端的对象:

col segment_name for a30

我们注意到高水位上有些索引是可以通过rebuild来改变其位置的,但是在正常模式下,Oracle不允许rebuild这些索引:

有两种方式可以使得这些对象允许被重建:
1.通过migrate模式

38003事件的作用是:CBO Disable column stats for the dictionary objects in recursive SQL
也就是说可以将部分对象从启动的bootstrap$需要里剥离出来,从而可以被在线rebuild.

这个事件能够影响的对象很有限,这类操作也是极其危险的,所以不在这里详细列出。

新年 新婚

办公室里的人已经渐渐少起来,很多同事都已经回家过年。

我们也要开始计划行程,去年这个时候,正为一张票而烦恼,今年的新年将在江门度过,我和Julia将在那里举行婚礼;早早就订好了机票,只等起飞的那一天。
爸爸妈妈、姐姐姐夫,还有小外甥都会一起到江门,举家南下,50年所未有之盛况:)

婚礼的日期定在初六(2月23日),经多方查证,那是一个幸运的日子。希望以后长长的一生里,我和Julia以及将来的Baby都能幸福且幸运:)

去年的2.13日,从江门看Julia回到北京;所以2006年的今日是一个人在北京度过的;转眼就是一年,今年的这个日子,终于可以和亲爱的人一起度过。

幻想着婚礼那一天的情景,一定是热闹、快乐而幸福的,想起给朋友做伴郎的那个婚礼,虽然喧闹、劳累,但是婚礼真的是神圣,幸福、责任、家庭在那一刻落地生根,两个人从此有了一个姓氏...

阵列增加硬盘导致IO错误一例

前几天一个朋友的数据库出了点问题,传来的一段警告日志包含如下错误信息:

ORA-01114: IO error writing block to file 15 (block # 1)
ORA-27041: unable to open file
Linux Error: 30: Read-only file system

一系列的错误提示都表明IO出了问题,经过询问得知,用户正在更换硬盘IBM的盘阵,刚刚插入了5块硬盘,结果发现数据库出现了问题,关闭之后就无法启动。

让用户把刚加入的硬盘拔掉,reboot一下盘阵,数据库恢复了正常。

不清楚是IBM什么型号的盘阵,加硬盘导致故障还是第一次遇到,记录一下.

旧书以及新书 新年以及旧年

今天和我的《深入浅出Oracle》一书的编辑聊了一会,了解了一下这本书的销售情况。

截至到目前,本书共印刷了8000册,库存尚有1200册,也就是卖出或在途/在店的一共有6800册。

我说:哇,滞销了。
编辑说:没有了,Tom的《Oracle9i&10g编程艺术》也差不多,同样印了8000册,Tom的书库存还有1700册。

这下平衡了,不管怎样,销量能和Tom的书差的不太远我就满足了。

前几天和wzy等ACE们一起吃饭,大家一致认为写书能发财,问我写一本书能赚多少钱。
我告诉他们具体数字之后,大家又异口同声的说:精神收获更重要!

恩,不管玩笑也好,认真也好,还真是精神收获更重要,趁自己还没忘却的时候,把自己的知识拿出来和大家分享,是一种快乐,更是另一种形式的收获。

所以现在计划再写下去,在新的一年来临的时候,把这本书作为另外一件礼物....

而写作,已经有了另外一种象征。

前几天说过,Oracle10g Events CONTROLF的改变,当时猜测控制文件的变化可能是为了满足Oracle10g Grid运算支持大量并行实例的需要。

幸运的以及更幸运的

今天下午公司举行Annual Party,晚会历来大家最关心的就是抽奖。所以一众人等坚持熬到最后,看着ipod被同事拿走,又看着手机被同事拿走,再看着DC被同事拿走....这些都是幸运的人....

可是还有更幸运的,晚会最后,老板们现场发挥,决定捐钱出来抽奖,造就一个Lucky One,于是CEO,CFO....争相解囊,最后集资33,666¥,这个幸运大奖最终被公司财务部的一位女同事拿走。这位同事是更幸运的人。

可是,也许还有更幸运的人吧。
晚会现场,公司的很多艺人到达现场,包括黄征、韩东等人,当然还有张靓颖。
靓颖简简单单的一件夹克衫,小女孩一般,可是赢得的是最多的喝彩和关注,很多人拿到了她的签名,我想对于凉粉来说,他们也是最幸运的人吧。

各种奖品没俺的份,想想已经习惯了,历年的晚会抽奖从来没中过,不过俺的没中奖却使得其他的人更加幸运,也算是功德一件吧,阿弥陀佛!

Oracle ACE China的一个小小聚会

昨晚,Oracle广州的Jack.Han来到北京,大家在雕刻时光·丽都店有了一个小小的聚会。

到场的有Kamus、Coolyl、Yangtingkun、Wzy,再加上 Eygle + Julia,这次聚会算是ACE China的一个Party(除了Fenng没有到场),这些刚成为ACE的兄弟们都是Jack.Han推荐的,他目前负责Oracle中国的开发者论坛工作,ACE的遴选和推荐也是他的工作之一。

感谢Jack.Han的推荐,我也有幸获得了Oracle的ACE称号。

一度有朋友问ACE这个词是什么意思,其实ACE就是扑克牌里的A,从金山词霸上可以得到如下一些解释:

ace [eis] n. (纸牌、骰子等的)么, 同花色中最大的牌
一点, 小点, 微粒
爱斯(假设的基本粒子)
杰出的人才
战斗成绩卓著的空军战斗员, 王牌飞行员(从第一次世界大战起, 美、法均将击落5架以上敌机的飞行员授予“王牌”称号, 德国为10架, 英国无此称号)
(网球赛中的)一分

Oracle这样解释其ACE计划:
Oracle ACE 计划旨在确认并奖励为倡导和推广 Oracle 技术做出贡献的 Oracle 开发人员和 DBA。ACE 的获奖者将基于其在 Oracle 技术社区中所作贡献大小来定。

目前的ACE名单上包含很多大名鼎鼎的人物:Kyte Tom,Lewis Jonathan,Rogers Howard J ....

和这些专家并列,是一种荣誉更是一种激励,我们需要更多的努力不断提升自己,以使得这个称号更具实际意义。

当然国内有很多技术专家没有参加这次的推荐活动,像biti,chao_ping,dcba,piner...都是这个领域的成名人物,希望将来有越来越多的中国人称为ACE。

Oracle10g Events CONTROLF的改变

《深入浅出Oracle》的一个读者在我的留言板上提出一个问题,他说以下这条命令运行生成的跟踪文件和我书上的结果完全不同:

原来是V10 Style的输出,这是Oracle10g的数据库,我书中第一章的测试来自Oracle9iR2,由于events是Oracle的内部事件,其行为在不同的版本中可能不同。

在Oracle10g中,使用Level 8的trace,得到以下的输出.
在这个输出中,和Oracle9i最大的不同是enabled threads部分增强了位图信息,这个信息的增加我猜测是为了满足Oracle10g Grid运算支持大量并行实例的需要.Level 10及的trace将包含DUMP memory的信息,可读性又有所降低了。

记录一下,还有待于进一步研究:
